The Red Poppy Festival in Georgetown Texas is always a huge hit and this weekend’s event did not disappoint. There were fun events, good food and lots of arts and crafts to purchase. Coming home from the city square my neighbor’s yard caught my eye. There, in orange/yellow brilliance were poppies of another sort competing with the Red Poppies scattered through the county. I couldn’t resist…I HAD to paint them! Orange Poppies On Parade Click To Enlarge
Spring is yawning into early summer with drizzly, gloomy clouds that will soon give us showers that all will savor – flowers, plants, animals and people! Sadly this is also the time when our Texas bluebonnets fade into promising seeds for next year’s crop. Please enjoy my interpretation of a bundle of fading bluebonnets. Click to photo to enlarge.
Spring is in the air but it is still drizzly and overcast here in Texas on April 17th, 2015. Our Texas wildflowers love this weather. Enjoy my watercolor painting of Red Poppies In The Rain
